There is no universally “most eco-friendly” finish. Compare the coating’s declared ingredients and VOC data, substrate suitability, application and cure, maintenance, service life and end-of-life within a defined product system. “Natural” or oil-based does not by itself establish low emissions, indoor-air safety or lower environmental impact. Review the finish options and trade-offs, then request the applicable technical and safety data sheets before approving a representative sample.
